What Famfinder asks for, and why.
Permissions
- Location ("Allow all the time") — required to share live GPS with your circle, including in the background. A persistent notification shows the entire time sharing is active, so the app never tracks you silently.
- Notifications — to deliver place alerts and family updates.
- Battery optimization exemption (recommended) — keeps location sharing reliable when the device is idle.
Safety notice
Famfinder is a peace-of-mind tool for families. Location data may be delayed or inaccurate depending on device, network, or operating-system conditions.
Famfinder is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.
Is Famfinder free?
Yes. The live map, private circles, place alerts, and battery status are free. Famfinder Pro is an optional $4.99/month upgrade that raises the member and place-alert limits and unlocks every map skin.
Can someone track me without my knowing?
No. You join a circle yourself with a join code, and a persistent notification stays on your device the whole time location sharing is active. You can stop sharing with one tap.
How do I add family members?
Create a circle, then share its join code with your partner, kids, parents, or close friends. They enter the code in the app and appear on the map — no public profiles or friend requests involved.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open Settings in the app and delete your account. Details are in the privacy policy.
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes. Famfinder is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
